Mill Valley Auto Repair

I take my car in to Masters whenever my usual mechanics can't figure out the problem with my auto. The first time, no one could figure out why my car would not start on wet, foggy mornings. The second time, my brake light kept lighting up even though my brakes were in great condition. Jim figured it all out. For the brake light, it was just a guess, but Jim was right on. I'm thinking to make Masters my primary mechanic.

I have a nice BMW and I only take it to the dealer in Marin. I ran out of the warranty so I took it to Masters as my neighbor advised me they were excellent. I was more than pleased. I tried to get a good deal so I asked for low price. Keith told me they would only use BMW parts. He threw in some detail work my car needed to be nice. His price was competative They do excellent work. Located in Mill Valley and I could walk home. I was very pleased.

I've been visiting Master's for five years and they have looked after six different cars from my family. What really struck me from the beginning was their genuine, thorough knowledge of the issues. They would research, call around and get the lowest-priced quality solution. They would intelligently advise on the best outcome. Their cost is very competitive. If there's ever a rare query about a completed job, there's never a grumble - they take the car back in and fix it quickly. It's hard for me to overstate how great and service-oriented these guys are. They do excellent, thoughtful work at a very reasonable price.

I would not have kept the Audi A4 without their excellent service.

Top notch. I have brought multiple cars over many years to this shop. I will echo other reviews that say that these folks really work hard to take the best care possible of your car - they go way out of their way. They aren't cheap - but they are in Mill Valley so one can't expect bargain prices. And you can know that they will only do what is needed and charge you appropriately.Thanks Jim and Keith!

Like Michael, I cannot rate this shop high enough. I've been a client for 10 years. Jim and his son Keith are just the nicest folks ever, and I trust them with my vehicles completely. I don't even "shop around" anymore, because I want repairs done that I can trust and count on. I still take my cars there, even though I've moved to another town! Five stars!

I had a great experience at this auto shop. I was referred by, of all places, the Sonnen VW dealership in San Rafael. My thermostat and cooling system were shot and they suggested Masters European if I wanted to save money over dealership prices. Which I did, to the tune of $400. I worked with Keith, who was very communicative and kind. Masters found that one of the parts that Sonnen said needed to be replaced was fine, but told me battery was close to needing replacement, so I ended up paying the same amount as the estimate but got a new battery too. I appreciated that a lot. I feel confident that my car is in good working condition, and if something does happen to go wrong, I know who to take it to.

Masters is the best auto shop in Marin, hands-down. If you care about a) quality and b) honesty you've found the right place. They're an hour away from me, but knowing that I'll always get A+ work every time for a fair price means I'll always be bringing my cars here.

Once again, these guys came through for all of our cars, a BMW 525i and my wife's VW Toureg and VW Passat.
